Your Treatment

I offer two principal types of treatment – Acupuncture and Tui Na (Chinese Massage). You don’t need to book an appointment specifically for one or the other, as I will use whatever combination is best for you at the time. We can discuss the options and choose a treatment plan that you will be comfortable with.

Acupuncture needle in shoulder

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese technique which has been used for centuries to treat a very wide range of conditions. Very fine needles are placed in specific points, which follow well-established channels around the body. There are several different types of acupuncture, of which the two most widely practiced in this country are Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I am trained in both, and will use whichever approach is most appropriate. See here for more information.

Tui Na

Tui Na is a form of Chinese Massage and has been used for hundreds of years. It uses some of the same diagnostic approaches as for acupuncture, but doesn’t involve any needles. Massage is done fully clothed, though you should wear loose fitting items as freedom of movement is important.

It is a hands-on therapy used to bring the body into balance, with the aim of using the bodies healing process to aid healing. Tui Na can be used to treat many conditions such as:

  • Frozen shoulder
  • Sciatica
  • Headache/migraine
  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
