About Dee

Having found acupuncture helpful for various health conditions in the past, I looked into becoming an acupuncturist myself. Treating the whole person is an important aspect of Chinese Medicine, and the integrated approach offered by the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading was very appealing to me.

I embarked on a three year course at CICM, graduating with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Acupuncture. I then practiced in Reading before establishing a clinic at my home in Malvern – see below for details. I have also successfully completed a one year Diploma course in Tui Na, and a further one year Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, both at CICM.

In previous years I have worked in a wide variety of environments, which has given me a broad perspective on people and the issues they can face on a day to day basis.

Location

The clinic is located in the lower floor of my home at 10 Belvoir Bank, Malvern WR14 4LY. This is just off the North Malvern Road / West Malvern Road, near Tank Quarry and the North Malvern Clock Tower.

The entrance is at the back – go round the right hand side of the house, through the gate into the garden, and head for the furthest door.

This is just 1 mile from the centre of Malvern, 8 miles from Upton, 9 miles from Worcester or Ledbury, and 11 miles from Bromyard.

Parking

Picture of a cream coloured house with a hedge in front and two cars parked either side.

You can park on the lower driveway of the house – on the right. Alternatively, there are normally spaces on both the North Malvern Road (at the top of Belvoir Bank) and Cowleigh Road (at the bottom). Please don’t park in the road opposite (it’s a private road).

Public Transport

We are about 20 minutes walk from Malvern Link train station, and just a little further from Great Malvern.

The 675 bus from Ledbury passes close by the house, and the 44 bus from Worcester via Powick stops at Link Top, which is about ten minutes away.

Professional Standards

Qualifications

I studied for my degree in Acupuncture – B.Sc. (Hons) – at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading. The degree was awarded by Kingston University and accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. This was a three year course which integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine with Five Element Acupuncture, as well as conventional medicine sciences.

I have also successfully completed a one year Diploma in Tui Na and a further one year Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, both at CICM.

British Acupuncture Council

I am a full member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC). This is the main professional body regulating acupuncturists in the UK. To be a member, an acupuncturist must have completed an approved course of training, commit to maintaining rigorous professional standards, and keep their knowledge up-to-date by undertaking Continuing Professional Development every year.

Membership also means that I am fully covered under their professional insurance scheme.

Testimonials

“Absolutely Amazing”

Dee is absolutely amazing, I personally owe her a lot for sorting my fertility issues as we would not have our lovely daughter if it was not for her being so meticulous and diagnosing a problem that doctors missed. She is very medically knowledgeable and experienced, also friendly and she has a lovely space at her home completely dedicated to acupuncture. I thoroughly recommend!!

“Very caring”

I had Tuina with Dee for a long-standing shoulder injury which was beginning to impact on my life. Her careful questioning and calm manner at our first session really impressed me and I instinctively felt that I was in a safe pair of hands. I noticed an immediate improvement and, within weeks, regained full movement of my shoulder. Dee is a very caring and competent practitioner and I cannot recommend her services highly enough.
